Ice generator is a refrigerating plant, consisting of refrigerating unit and ice-making machine.

Aircool Co manufactures ice generators of flake ice with capacity from 300kg/d to 3000 kg/d.

Ice generators are applied in different fields of industry:

  • in fish industry – for delivery of fish from ships or dock refrigerators to shops, retaining storage quality (usage of flake ice increases storage time of fresh fish fro 1 to 10 days), cooling (250kg of ice is needed to cool 1t of fresh fish from 26°Ñ to 0°Ñ);
  • in sausage industry for cooling of stuffing (ice, added during production of stuffing, prevents the product from heating up and brings water, necessary for production of high quality stuffing);
  • in trade for preserving of commercial state of the products;
  • in medicine and many other fields of industry.

Advantages of usage of ice generators:

  • the produced ice is dry and supercooled, which provides its high cooling and absorbing capacity. The produced ice is free-flowing and does not stick together and form blocks, so it allows to transport t pneumatically and store in low temperature rooms;
  • the produced ice has no sharp edges, thus it does not spoil the appearance of the products and wrappings.

Ice generators consist of three separate blocks, which allow to assemble the equipment in the industrial areas more efficiently:

  • ice generator GENEGLACE;
  • refrigerating plant of own production on the basis of condensing unit BITZER;
  • control board of own production.

On request there is a possibility of parallel fulfillment of ice generators for one refrigerating plant.

Plate ice generator is designed for production of plate ice with the temperature –2°Ñ.

Application:

  • in seafood and fish farming – for supply of fresh fish from ships and port refrigerators to shops, preserving product quality (usage of flake ice increases storage time for fresh fish from 1 to 10 days); for cooling (250kg of ice are needed for cooling of 1 ton of fresh fish from 26°Ñ to 0°Ñ);
  • meat processing – in sausage manufacture for cooling of stuffing (ice, added in the stuffing, prevents temperature increase and at melting adds water, necessary for manufacture of high-quality stuffing);
  • in sales – for preserving of display conditions of products;
  • in pharmaceuticals and many other fields of industry;
  • in building for heat removal of cement set in concrete;
  • in chemicals for temperature control in exothermic reactions;
  • in agriculture for precooling of fruits and vegetables.

Plate ice generator consists of:

  • evaporator - pillow plate heat exchanger);
  • water tank with pump;
  • refrigerating unit: 
    • for high capacity (till 3 ton per day) ice generator is made on the basis of compressor-condenser unit with hermetic compressor TECUMSEH EUROPE (France);
    • for larger capacities – on the basis of compressor-condensing unit with semi-hermetic compressor BITZER (Germany).

The complete ice-plants are made of stainless steel.

The choice of compressor is made on Customer’s request.

Ice-plant can be made as with built-in refrigerating unit, located on one frame, so as with remote refrigerating unit.

Description of ice formation:

That type of equipment is a unit, which has pillow plate heat exchanger from stainless steel, inside of which the refrigerant boils at negative temperature.

The panel is sprayed with water. The water is supplied from a tank with a pump and flows down the surface of an evaporator. When water touches the surface of an evaporator, which is cooled down to negative temperature, the water freezes, forming ice crust.

After maintenance of the set thickness of ice crust the refrigerating unit switches on defrost mode. During this period the hot gas is supplied in the inner cavity, which is produced due to pressing in the compressor.

External surface of the evaporator is heated to positive temperature, which results in breaking away and falling down of the ice plate. As a result it is chipped by special screws, and then is extracted in the tank as chopped plates. Not frozen water flows down in a water tank, then it is supplied on the evaporator surface and the process starts again.

The advantage of this type of equipment is a possibility of usage of a refrigerating unit with much lesser power and dimensions, preserving the set capacity, which is reached due to the principle of operation – ice falls down from the evaporator constantly, without formation of a thick layer, which needs lower evaporating temperature of refrigerant and thus surplus power inputs.
