Water chillers are special refrigerating units, applied for cooling of water and other liquids.

Applied for:

• In beverage industry for cooling of
  • mineral water, juices and syrups;
  • wort after brewing and providence of necessary temperature in fermentation vats;
  • wine and cognac till the temperatures near to freezing, for clarity and sludge removal;
  • water solutions of spirits, used during production of vodka, gin-tonics and other alcohol beverages;

  • mineral water, drinking water for dough;
  • technological water, applied for cooling of table for caramel rolling;
  • chocolate, icing and condensed milk.

  • oiling-cooling liquids for metal-working machines;
  • recycled water in production of wrapping and print;
  • water jackets of technological equipment etc.

Configuration and principle of operation:

Water chiller is a refrigerating unit, in which the cooled liquid circulates through evaporator or intermediate antifreeze.
There exist two more spread circuits for liquid cooling:

          a) liquid is cooled directly in evaporator of direct boiling at temperature difference (Tb-Tf) not more than 10°С.

          b) liquid is cooled using intermediate antifreeze at temperature difference (Tb-Tf) more than 10°С.

Water chiller consists of:

• compressor, cooled by suction vapour, has an electronic motor protection, is equipped with shutoff valves on suction and discharge lines and with oil heater. Refrigerating circuit of every compressor has filter drier, access valve for refrigerant filling, low and high pressure switches, sight glass, shutoff and magnetic valve, thermostatic expansion valve;
• plate or shell and tube evaporator, according to capacity and quantity of refrigerating circuits;
• high efficient air cooled condenser with axial fans;
• open support frame;
• electric control board is equipped with master switch, automatic compressor protection and control circiuts, electronic regulating and safety thermostat for control of temperature of the cooled liquid, light indication of operation and alarm modes;
• on request the plant can be equipped with pump station with tank-accumulator.
